| Advanced Skimstone/Preferred Applicator Certification Workshop | |||
| In this two-day workshop, learn how to work with Skimstone, a versatile decorative concrete overlay finish, to create trendy and beautiful floors and countertops. Skimstone can be used for both interior and exterior applications. Students completing this workshop will receive a certificate and designation as a Skimstone Preferred Applicator. One of the benefits of this “certification” includes being listed on the Skimstone website: www.skimstone.com as a Preferred Applicator. | |||
| In this workshop students will learn surface preparation, Skimstone application, recipes for various finishes including faux slate, sautillo tiles, using a Modello™ to create patterns in the concrete and more. Students will complete sample boards, do hands-on work on a “community” floor surface and countertop. Each student will receive a detailed instruction manual. | |||

| Textured Wall Finishes I (formerly known as Smooth & Crusty Finishes) – Take a step “outside the box” and work with plasters to create unique finishes. This 3-Day workshop will feature products from three wonderful companies: ProFaux, Meoded, Aqua Finishing Solutions and introducing a wonderful new clay plaster by American Clay. Polished plasters, aged & cracked plaster finishes will be featured, also finishes with powder pigments, metallic waxes, glazes, etc. Prerequisites: It is recommended that students be experienced finishers. Discuss with Laura experience level. | |||
| Quick & Easy Decorative Wall Finishes Workshop I – In this hands-on workshop, learn how to apply beautiful finishes that create a soft, warm ambiance in your home. These finishes become the backdrop to a variety of decorating styles, from contemporary to old world. Start with the basics needed to prepare for and complete your decorative finishes successfully. Then to the fun stuff—simple single and multi-color glaze finishes, blended finishes, etc. Learn how to use a variety of the “tools of the trade” to make to job easier. | That’s Stencilled? Workshop I - Learn how to use a variety of techniques to create beautiful “hand painted” accents in your home using metallic paints, glaze/paint, etc. Students will also learn one of the strongest decorating trends—textured or “raised” stenciling. Each of the techniques learned in this workshop enhance both walls and furniture alike. Students will use the studio’s stencils, paints, brushes, etc. in class. | |||

| Finish it! Furniture Workshop I – Learn the tricks of the trade to create the furniture and decorator pieces you see in magazines, home décor catalogs and decorative furnishings stores, including the “old world” look! Learn how to prepare the surface and finish samples on pieces of wood molding using various distressing, crackling, antiquing, and staining techniques to create some really great finishes. | |||

| Introduction Lecture/Demonstration of Skimstone Decorative Concrete Overlay Finishes — This is a trendy and economical way to create gorgeous surfaces over existing concrete floors/patios (interior and exterior) and Formica countertops! This class is intended to be an introductory demonstration and discussion of the use and layered application process of decorative concrete. Students will receive written instruction. | |||

| Decoupage Flower Pot/Vase - Have fun learning the art of decoupage by transforming either a large “rosen” (vase shaped) clay pot or a round wooden tray into a beautiful decorator piece. The finished piece looks hand painted! “Age” the piece by “china” crackling and then antiquing to expose the beautiful crackled surface. Great gift idea! | |||

| Mosaic Garden Stepping Stone - Have fun creating a unique piece for your garden using a combination of broken china pieces, stained glass, tiles, etc. It is your one-of-a-kind work of art!
